Windows Phone gets a new logo

A few weeks back we had reported that Windows Phone was likely to get a new square logo. This appears to now be confirmed.

When you boot up Mango from build 7710 onwards, you get to see this new logo on display.

There is also a blog post on MSDN Japan, talking about the new flat metro-ish square logo. This is the logo which will be used for Windows Phone 7.5 and later.

Microsoft now appears to be endorsing this as the official new logo for Windows Phone.
