Metro UI is the new interface introduced by Microsoft for the Windows Phone. But its evolution started from the old application called Encarta encyclopedia and was then also introduced in Media Center. After lots of research and development, Microsoft introduced this UI calling it Metro UI on new Window Phone OS. Finally, it’s coming for Windows 8 OS for PC. Microsoft designers have focused more on clean typography styles and less on fancy, glossy icons and backgrounds. Read more in Wikipedia.
